ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca field hockey team (7-9, 3-4 Empire 8) got back in the win column with a 2-1 win at Elmira (3-8, 1-4 Empire 8) Saturday at the Murray Athletic Center. The Bombers have seven wins on the year, their most since the 2008 season. Ithaca fell behind 1-0 in the first half and rallied with two second-half goals for the win.
Senior forward
Julia Conroy scored her 11th goal of the season in the 47th minute on an assist from
Abbey Lind to tie the score. Lind scored the game-winning goal with just 6:29 remaining in the second half on a shot that went off the right post and in.
Goalkeeper
Kelly Singleton finished the game with seven saves. Ithaca held a 14-11 advantage in penalty corners. Both teams had 11 shots.
Ithaca returns to action Wednesday at home against Geneseo at 4 p.m. at Higgins Stadium.
