Ithaca Field Hockey Falls To Oneonta

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Oneonta Red Dragons (8-5) recorded a 5-1 win over the Ithaca field hockey (6-8) team Saturday afternoon at Higgins Stadium. The game took place during Ithaca's Alumni Weekend which celebrated the themes of Homecoming, Reunion and Spirit. On Friday night, former Ithaca field hockey captain Becky Karver was inducted into the Ithaca Athletics Hall of Fame.

Oneonta built a 2-0 lead in the first half before the Bombers answered. Ithaca's goal came in the 27th minute as Lindsay Flanagan scored her fourth goal of the season after the Bombers shot multiple times from short range. The goal was unassisted.

The Red Dragons added another tally before halftime and added two in the second half.

Ithaca goalkeeper Kelly Singleton made seven saves. Oneonta led the Bombers in shots 19-13 and led 17-11 in penalty corners.

The Bombers remain home on Wednesday at 4 p.m. against Utica.
