ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The 20th-ranked Rochester Yellowjackets (11-3) posted a 4-1 win over the Ithaca field hockey (6-7) team Wednesday night at Fauver Stadium. Rochester built a 3-0 lead at halftime and went on to the win, but the teams scored one goal each in the second half.
Ithaca's goal came in the 59th minute as
Katie Kennedy scored her third of the season on an assist from
Andrea Pace. Pace has eight assists on the year, the most assists by a Bomber player in 20 years, dating back to the 1992 season when Sue Bender had 10 assists.
Rochester held a 24-12 advantage in shots and a 10-7 advantage in penalty corners. Ithaca goalkeeper
Kelly Singleton made 13 saves. It was the fifth time this season that Singleton has made 10 or more saves in a game.
The Bombers return home to Higgins Stadium for an Alumni Weekend game Saturday at 1 p.m. against Oneonta.
