ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca gymnastics team (3-2) scored 184.200 and defeated visiting Springfield (181.400) and Rhode Island College (168.925) at Ben Light Gymnasium on Saturday evening. The Bombers, ranked third nationally in team scoring average, posted their highest team total of the year.
Senior
Jessica Bolduc (Darien/Darien, Conn.) won three individual events as well as the all-around competition.
Bolduc scored 9.65 on floor exercise, 9.6 on balance beam and 9.625 on vault. She also totaled 8.85 on the uneven bars, for an all-around score of 37.725 which bettered five all-around competitors in the meet.
Ithaca posted season-best scores in team scoring on vault, bars, and floor exercise.
Junior
Chelsea Robie (Batt Private School/Hobe Sound, Fla.) was Ithaca's highest finisher on uneven bars, where she placed second with a score of 9.325. Senior
Samantha Whiffen (Sharon/Sharon, Mass.) was fourth on bars with a score of 9.2 and sophomore
Shilanna Gallo (Central Catholic/Windham, N.H.) was fifth with 9.175.
Senior
Kay Gordon (Summit/Breckenridge, Colo.) placed fourth on vault with a score of 9.325 and freshman
Valerie Cohen (Oliver Ames/South Easton, Mass.) was fifth with a score of 9.25.
On floor exercise, sophomore
Meredith Daniels (Holy Angels/Wyckoff, N.J.) had a season-best performance with a score of 9.35 for a fourth-place finish. Graduate student
Justine Picciano (Rush-Henrietta/Rochester) was fifth with 9.3. Senior
Kimberly Callahan (Rockland/Rockland, Mass.) placed fourth on balance beam with a score of 9.35.
Ithaca returns to action Saturday in a dual meet at Wilson.
