Ithaca Gymnasts Second of Three at Ursinus

Collegeville, Pa. - The Ithaca gymnastics team (1-2) placed second in a field of three teams Sunday at Ursinus with a score of 183.125. The Bombers finished behind Temple (185.975) and ahead of the host Ursinus Bears (180.350). Ithaca's team score was an improvement of eight tenths of a point over their opening week total.

Senior Jessica Bolduc (Darien/Darien, Conn.) placed second in all-around (37.8), second on uneven parallel bars (9.525) and tied for third on balance beam (9.5) and tied for third on vault (9.5).

Ithaca's top finishers on floor exercise were senior Kay Gordon (Summit/Breckenridge, Colo.) and graduate student Justine Picciano (Rush-Henrietta/Rochester). Gordon was tied for fourth with a score of 9.55 and Picciano was seventh with a score of 9.45. The top five finishers in the event came from Division I Temple.

The Bombers will compete in their first home event of the year Saturday when Ithaca hosts Rhode Island College and Springfield at Ben Light Gymnasium at 3 p.m.
