Ithaca, N.Y. - Undefeated St. Lawrence (5-0) narrowly defeated the Ithaca women's tennis team (10-5) in a dual-match Saturday at the Reis Tennis Center. The dual came down to the final match on court, and that was extended to three sets in a very close meeting between the two teams.

Sophomore Cristina Nunez (Morris Hills/Rockaway, N.J.) and senior Melissa Nunez (Morris Hills/Rockaway, N.J.) were double-winners for the Bombers. They teamed up to start the match with an 8-4 victory at first doubles over the St. Lawrence duo of Hillary Drewry and Stephanie Finn. Both doubles teams are regionally-ranked by the ITA, as the Ithaca tandem is 11th in the region and the St. Lawrence team is ranked 10th.

Ithaca's other point came at third doubles where junior Kelsey Harness (Allegan/Allegan, Mich.) and sophomore Laurel Salladay (Pinkerton Academy/Hampstead, N.H.) were 8-1 winners.

The Bombers return to action April 2 against nationally-ranked Rochester.
