Rochester Outguns Ithaca Field Hockey

Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. - Rochester (10-5) scored three first-half goals and went on to a 5-0 win over the Ithaca field hockey team (2-9) Wednesday evening at Higgins Stadium. Ithaca returns to action Saturday, when the Bombers host St. John Fisher in an Empire 8 game at 1 p.m.

Junior goalkeeper Kelly Singleton (Irondequoit/Rochester) had five saves in goal for Ithaca, and Rochester held a narrow 14-11 shots advantage in the game. Ithaca freshman midfielder Leigh Martino (Windsor/Windsor) made a defensive save. The Bombers had an apparent goal disallowed in the first half that was ruled to have gone in off of a player's foot, and Ithaca held an 11-8 advantage in penalty corners.
