Springfield, Mass. - The Ithaca gymnastics team (6-1) defeated Springfield 182.575-181.400 Sunday afternoon at Springfield's Blake Arena.
Freshman
Jenna Van Dusen (Lewiston-Porter/Lewiston) placed first in the all-around competition with a score of 37.450, nearly two full points higher than her previous season-best score in the all-around. In individual events,
Van Dusen tied for first in the vault with a 9.525, and tied for first on the uneven bars with a 9.125. She also finished second on floor exercise (9.525) and fourth on balance beam (9.275).
Junior
Lauren Moroch (Bishop George Ahr/Old Bridge, N.J.) finished first on balance beam with a season-best score of 9.525 and freshman
Shilanna Gallo (Central Catholic/Windham, N.H.) tied for first on uneven bars with a score of 9.125.
Other top finishers for Ithaca included senior
Lauren Ferrone (Whitesboro/Utica) who was second on balance beam with a score of 9.400 and junior
Jessica Bolduc (Darien/Darien, Conn.) who was third on vault (9.400) and third on floor exercise (9.400).
Ithaca returns to action Saturday at Yale in a meet that will also include Rutgers.
