Bomber Gymnasts Second of Four at Rhode Island College

Providence, R.I. - The Ithaca gymnastics team (5-1) placed second in a field of four teams at the Rhode Island College quadrangular meet Saturday. Ithaca's team score of 182.250 bettered Wilson (160.225) and Rhode Island College (156.400). Bridgeport placed first with a score of 188.050.

The Bomber lineup included three all-around competitors. Junior Jessica Bolduc (Darien/Darien, Conn.) placed second in all-around (37.250), and second individually on uneven bars (9.525) and floor exercise (9.525). Bolduc was third on vault with a score of 9.450.

Junior Kay Gordon (Summit/Breckenridge, Colo.) was third on all-around with a total of 36.000 and freshman Jenna Van Dusen (Lewiston-Porter/Lewiston) placed fourth on all-around with a score of 35.700. In individual events, Van Dusen was fifth on vault with a score of 9.450.

Two other Ithaca competitors posted top-five results on the balance beam as senior Justine Picciano (Rush-Henrietta/Rochester) and junior Lauren Moroch (Bishop George Ahr/Old Bridge, N.J.) tied for fourth overall with scores of 9.475.

Ithaca returns to action Jan. 30 at Springfield.
