#4 Bombers Stay Unbeaten With Win Over RIT

ITHACA, N.Y. – The fourth-ranked wrestling team (6-0) remained unbeaten on the year, beating the visiting Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers (0-3) 35-6 Wednesday.

Ithaca won the last seven bouts of the match, with junior Keith Dickie (Cedar Cliff) clinching the Bombers' victory by beating his opponent 6-3 at 184 pounds. Dickey is now 6-3 on the season.

Senior Andrew Hutchins (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) put Ithaca up for good, posting a 5-3 win at 149 pounds that gave the Bombers a 7-6 lead. The victory was Hutchins' second of the season.

Sophomore Derek Brenon (Watertown), who's ranked seventh nationally at 157 pounds, followed Hutchins' win with his fourth pin of the year. Brenon took a 2-0 lead, then pinned his opponent with 33 seconds left in the first period. The team leader in victories, Brenon is 16-1 this season and 35-7 in his career.

Sophomore Jason Fraser (Alfred-Almond/Alfred) posted a major decision – his first of the season – at 165 pounds, winning 12-2. Fraser is now 6-3 this winter and 10-8 in his career.

The nation's fifth-ranked wrestler at 174 pounds, senior Dave Priest (Wyomissing Area/Douglassville, Pa.), pinned his opponent in 4:00. Priest raised his season record to 13-1 with four pins and his career mark to 90-27.He's the 27th Bomber to reach 90 career victories.

Sophomore Gili Bauer-Moshi (Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown) won 8-4 at 197 pounds, raising his season mark to 5-6.

Junior Matt Mahon (Brighton/Rochester), the nation's fourth-ranked heavyweight, closed out the match by pinning his opponent 50 seconds into the bout. Mahon's pin, his team-leading 10th, was the 38th of his career. He's 11-2 this winter and 57-17 overall as a Bomber.

At 125 pounds, junior Max Cohen (Williamsville East/East Amherst) improved to 10-2 with a dominating 20-6 win to open the match. Cohen, who recorded his second major decision of the season, recorded seven takedowns during the match.

The Bombers are now 42-16 against the Tigers and have won 12 in a row – the longest winning streak ever in the series.

Ithaca returns to action Saturday, traveling to Oswego for a 1 p.m. match.
