Women's Basketball Wins 64-39 Over Alfred

Lindsay Brown grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds.

ITHACA, N.Y.--Ithaca (14-7, 10-2 Empire 8) never trailed en route to a 64-39 win over Alfred (10-10, 4-7 Empire 8) Sunday afternoon. The Bombers have now won 30 games in a row over the Saxons, dating back to 1993.

Sophomore forward Elissa Klie (Ramapo/Wyckoff, N.J.) scored a game-high eleven points to lead the Bombers. Klie scored nine of her eleven points in the second half and grabbed eight rebounds in the game. Junior guard Lindsay Brown (Immaculate/Danbury, Conn.) netted six points and pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds. Classmate Katherine Bixby (Germantown Friends/Philadelphia, Pa.) scored nine points on 3-of-8 shooting and tallied five assists. Bixby and Brown each added three steals.

Ithaca led the entire game with its highest lead reaching 28 points late in the second half. The Bombers held the Saxons to 21.0% shooting from the floor including just 4-of-31 from beyond the arc.

All 14 Bombers scored at least a point in the win. Ithaca featured a balanced scoring attack with seven players scoring at least five points. 13 Bombers made a trip to the free-throw line in the contest. 

The Bombers continue its four-game home stretch with an Empire 8 match-up against Stevens on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
