Volleyball Takes Down Potsdam

Schenectady, N.Y.--Ithaca (15-12) snapped a three-match losing streak with a 25-14, 25-17, 25-19 sweep of Potsdam (4-20). The Bombers are now 1-1 at the Union Interleague Challenge, and continue play in the tournament Saturday.

Sophomore Kate Thoene (Voorhees/High Bridge, N.J.) was Ithaca's offensive leader with 13 kills. she hit .611 in 18 attempts. Senior Rachel Busch (Hoover/North Canton, Ohio) and sophomore Chelsea Hayes (Northern Valley Regional/Haworth, N.J.) each had nine kills in the win.

Hayes also had a career-high three aces. Junior Taylor Horton (Lakeridge/Lake Oswego, Ore.) added four.

Senior Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) picked up 37 assists, and has 87 through two games at Union. She now has 5,034 in her career, and is the second Ithaca player to eclipse 5,000. She is 264 behind Jen Salmon for the program record.

Ithaca opens play Saturday with a noon matchup against Oneonta.
