Pittsford, N.Y. -- The women's soccer team (8-2-0, 5-0-0), ranked eighth by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and 15th by D3soccer.com, blanked host St. John Fisher (3-7-1, 0-2-0) 2-0 in conference play Tuesday.
Graduate student Lauren Koppel (Southside/Rockville Cengter) and senior Amy Scheffer (Schalmont/Schenectady) both scored goals with senior Emily Mogk (Bozeman/Bozeman, Mont.) and freshman Rachael Palladino (Lansing/Groton) picking up assists.
Scheffer's goal -- her team-best 10th of the season -- raised her career total to 83 points, putting her second on the program's all-time list. She's recorded the program's 19th double-digit goal season. She and Palladino are tied atop the team's scoring list with 22 points apiece. Palladino's total leaves her five short of Chelsey Feldman's Bomber freshman record.
Koppel's goal, her eighth of the season, upped her total to 20 points. Mogk moved into a tie for the team lead with her fifth assist.
Junior Alyssa Sotomayor (East Brunswick/East Brunswick, N.J.) made three saves to record her seventh shutout as the Bombers outshot the host Cardinals 16-4.
