Hoboken, N.J. - The Ithaca field hockey team (8-9) lost 5-1 at #17 Stevens Institute of Technology (17-3) in an Empire 8 semifinal game Saturday afternoon. The Stevens Ducks were the tournament's top seed after going undefeated in conference play.

The Bombers trailed 3-0 before sophomore back Mia Muzio (Rockport/Rockport, Mass.) scored off a penalty corner in the second half. The goal was assisted by sophomore forward Christine Franz (West Windsor-Plainsboro/Plainsboro, N.J.).

Ithaca junior goalkeeper Courtney Dowell (Massapequa/Massapequa) made four saves.

The Bombers concluded their season with eight wins, achieving their highest win total since 2003. Ithaca was 7-1 in home games this season.
