Bombers Earn Close Win Over Bloomsburg

ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca men's swimming & diving team (4-1) edged out Bloomsburg on Saturday 153-141 to earn its fourth straight dual meet victory. The Bombers were led by freshman Jeff Rapp (Liverpool/Liverpool) who won the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.18, the 200 back (2:02.25) and the 200 individual medley (2:02.97).

Rapp joined senior Brant Gawrys (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa), sophomore Jerry Diamond (Junction City/Junction City, Ore.) and freshman Antoine Connors (Spartanburg/Spartanburg, S.C.) to win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:39.76.

Sophomore Joe Gage (Edwin-Oscar Smith/Storrs, Conn.) won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.44 and the 50 free (21.83). Connors also won the 100 free (48.92).

The top divers for the Bombers were freshman Derek Rand (Amity/Orange, Conn.) and sophomore Mike Glicini (Dallas/Dallas, Pa.). Rand won on the 1-meter board with 227.40 points and Glicini won the 3-meter board with 246.25 points. The diving events were conducted and scored Friday night.

The Bombers travel to Clinton Saturday to swim with Geneseo, Hartwick, and host Hamilton in a quad meet.
