Biography
2007-08: Gage was Ithaca's top freshman performer last season and earned numerous all-state and all-conference honors. Gage was Rookie of the Meet at the Empire 8 Championships after winning the UNYSCSA and Empire 8 titles in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:42.82, which was an NCAA "B" qualifying time and the third-fastest time in the 200 free in Bomber history. He was second in the UNYSCSA and Empire 8 in the 50 free in 21.49 seconds and also earned all-state honors on the 200-, 400- and 800-yard freestyle relay teams as well as the 400-yard medley relay team. He was a two-time honoree as Empire 8 men's swimming & diving athlete of the week on Dec. 13 and Feb. 11.
High School: A 2007 graduate of Edwin Oscar Smith High School, Gage was coached by Brian Beckius and Brian Thomas. He earned four varsity letters as a member of the swimming & diving team and served as team captain his junior and senior seasons. An all-state performer, Gage placed second at the state open championships in the 200-yard freestyle his senior year. He was also a member of the cross country and track & field teams.
Personal: A student in the exploratory program, he is the son of Daniel and Sherie Gage.
