ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca women's tennis team (9-0, 8-0 Empire 8) concluded its fall regular-season schedule with a 7-1 win over visiting Hartwick (3-10, 2-6 Empire 8) at the Ithaca College Tennis Courts. The match was the final home dual of the traditional fall season for five Ithaca seniors who have helped the Bombers to a 42-22 record in dual matches and contributed more than 300 wins in singles and doubles play during their careers.

Senior Alyssa Jaffe (Pascack Hills/Montvale, N.J.) won twice for the Bombers. She won 8-1 at first doubles with teammate junior Devra Reiman (Columbia/Maplewood, N.J.), and also won at second singles where she led 6-2, 3-0 before her opponent defaulted by injury.

Seniors Natalie Jenereski (Knoch/Butler, Pa.) and Amanda Korba (Solon/Solon, Ohio) won in straight sets at third singles and sixth singles. Fellow senior Michelle Duffy (Cazenovia/Cazenovia) teamed with freshman Katrina Erdahl (Mars Area/Gibsonia, Pa.) to win 8-4 at third doubles. Junior Sarah Hollis (Greens Farms Academy/Fairfield, Conn.) and freshman Becky Campbell (Sanford School/Chadds Ford, Pa.) also won in singles play.

Reiman's match at first singles did not finish due to darkness, although Reiman won the first set and led 5-2 in the second.

The Bombers clinched the regular season Empire 8 championship over the weekend and now own a 27-match Empire 8 winning streak that extends through five seasons.

Ithaca will compete in the Empire 8 Championship tournament this weekend at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J. The top-seeded Bombers face fourth-seeded Stevens in the semifinal round at 10 a.m. Saturday.
