Volleyball Falls to Skidmore at Interleague Challenge

Jen Heberton's 21 kills tied her career best set earlier this season against Widener.
Schenectady, N.Y.—Ithaca suffered its first loss at Union's Interleague Challenge, losing to Skidmore 25-18, 22-25, 25-21, 25-11. The Bombers (13-14) and Thoroughbreds (18-6) are both 2-1 in the tournament with one match each left to play. Ithaca concludes play with a match against host Union Saturday afternoon.

Junior Jen Heberton (Darien/Darien, Conn.) led the Bombers with 21 kills, tying her career-high. She hit .346. Junior Rachel Busch (Hoover/North Canton, Ohio) contributed 14 kills. She has reached double figures in kills in all three matches at Union.

Junior setter Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) recorded 35 assists and 16 digs. Sophomore Tina Orlandini (Flintridge Sacred Heart/Altadena, Calif.) led the team with 27 digs. Orlandini has dug at least 10 balls in 20 consecutive matches.

The Bombers take on Union at 2 p.m.
