Alfred, N.Y. -- The women’s swimming & diving team won nine of 13 events in defeating Empire 8 rival Alfred, 151-75. Freshman
Shannon Archer (Niskayuna/Scotia) registered a pair of first-place finishes, winning the 500-yard freestyle in 5:25.86 and the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:06.95.

Jen Heberton (Darien/Darien, Conn.) and Kaitlin Rosinski
(Webster-Thomas/Webster) recorded a one-two finish in the 50-yard freestyle with respective times of 25.24 and 26.58. Junior
Kelsey Gliesing (Joel Barow/Redding, Conn.) placed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:05.90.

Kara Senecal (Drury/North Adams, Mass.) won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.26 and
Rosinski placed third with a time of 58.54. Junior
Kelly Turpin (Mounds Park Academy/Saint Paul, Minn.) placed first In the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.59. She was followed by senior
Jill Donaldson (Penfield/Boothwyn, Penn.) and junior
Holly Mulherin (Bow/Bow, N.H.) with second and third place times of 1:06.31 and 1:10.96, respectively.
Ithaca took the top-three spots in the 100-yard breaststroke, led by freshman
Sarah Scotchlas'
(Dunmore/Dunmore) winning time of 1:15.99. Sophomore
Jordan Doppelt (West Essex Regional/North Caldwell, N.J.) finished in second with a time of 1:21.75 and junior
Lauren Gerrish (Pinkerton Academy/Auburn, N.H.) placed third with a time of 1:36.90.
Ithaca swept the relay events, winning both the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley. In the 200-yard freestyle, Gundersen, Turpin, Senecal, and Heberton recorded a first place time of 1:42.96. The team of Heberton, Senecal, Wheeler, and Donaldson won the 200-yard medley realy in 1:59.19.
Seniors Nikki Gundersen
(Hollis-Brookline/Brookline, N.H.) and
Kristy Gifford (Chesire/Chesire, Conn.) placed second and third in the 1,000-yard freestyle with times of 11:16.39 and 11:21.94, respectively.
Gundersen also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:28.78. Freshmen
Laura Kucsan (Bridgewater-Raritan/Bridgewater, N.J.) was Ithaca’s top-finishers in the 200-yard freestyle, placing second with a time of 2:10.18.
The Bombers return to action against Division II Le Moyne January 17 at 1 p.m.
