ITHACA, N.Y. -- The women’s swimming & diving team lost their second dual meet of the season to Division II Bloomsburg, 109-91. Sophomore
Lauren Botterbusch (Dallastown/York, Pa.) was first in the 200-yard I.M., posting a time of 2:17.31, and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:31.84. Freshman
Shannon Archer (Niskayuna/Scotia) placed first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:22.97.
In the 200-yard freestyle, senior Nikki Gundersen (Hollis-Brookline/Brookline) placed second with a time of 1:58.42 followed by Archer in third with a time of 2:01.77. Gunderson also finished second in the 100-yard freestyle, posting a time of 56.23.
Freshman
Jen Heberton (Darien/Darien, Conn.) posted a time of 25.96 in the 50-yard freestyle to record a second-place finish. Sophomore
Cathleen Barnes (Bradford/Bradford, Pa.) placed second in the 200-yard backstroke, with a time of 2:19.26.
In the 1,000-yard freestyle, senior
Kristy Gifford (Chesire/Chesire, Conn.) recorded a third-place finish with a time of11:13.84 and freshman Laura Kuscan
(Bridgewater-Raritan/Bridgewater, N.J.) finished fourth with a time of 11:30.85. Junior
Kelsey Gliesing (Joel Barow/Redding, Conn.) placed third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:22.97.
Ithaca took the top three spots in the 400-yard freestyle relay, with the team of
Archer, Herberton and juniors
Kara Senecal (Drury/North Adams, Mass.) and
Kristin Schwartz (Concord-Carlisle Regional/Concord, Mass.) posting a time of 3:48.06. With a time of 3:56.14, the team of freshmen
Christie Fries (Immaculatta/Ringoes, N.J.) and
Kucsan, sophomore
Sarah Murphy (Watkins Glen/Horseheads) and junior
Kim Wheeler (Southern Cayuga Central/Genoa) placed second. In third
Gliesing, junior
Lauren Gerrish (Pinkerton Academy/Auburn. N.H.),
Gifford, and freshman
Sarah Scotchlas (Dunmore/Dunmore) recorded a time of 4:04.94.
The Bombers return to action Saturday at Hamilton with Geneseo and Hartwick at noon.
