Biography
2006-07: Murphy scored in both breaststroke events at the state championships, placing 16th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.24) and 22nd in the 200-yard event (2:41.64). She also swam with the 17th-place 200-yard freestyle relay team and finished 34th in the 50-yard freestyle.
2005-06: Murphy competed in the 50-yard freestyle as a freshman, recording a third –place finish against Cortland with a personal best time of 26.15. She was also named to the Empire 8 President’s List during the fall semester.
High School: A 2005 graduate of Watkins Glen High School, Murphy was coached by Kate Lamereaux. She earned three varsity letters as a member of the swimming & diving team and was a three-time all-conference selection. Murphy helped lead her team to three sectional championships and was a state championship qualifier. She earned additional varsity letters as a member of the basketball, tennis and track & field teams.
Personal: A speech language pathology major, she is the daughter of Jim Murphy and Joan Harris.
