Biography
2006-07: Wheeler ranked ninth on the team in points as a junior and scored in three events at the state championships. She placed 13th in the 100-yard butterfly, 19th in the 200-yard individual medley and 21st in the 400-yard individual medley. Wheeler was also a member of four top-20 relay teams at the state meet. She placed 17th and 18th as a member of the 200-yard freestyle and medley relay teams, respectively, and placed 20th in the 400-yard freestyle and medley relays.
2005-06: Wheeler earned second-team all-conference honors after placing fifth at the NYSWCAA Championships in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.90. She also placed 16th in the 200-yard individual medley, 19th in the 100-yard freestyle and 23rd in the 200-yard butterfly at the state championships. Wheeler was 15th on the team in scoring with 71.75 points.
2004-05: Wheeler was coached by Kami Gardner at Oswego.
High School: A 2004 graduate of Southern Cayuga High School, Wheeler was coached by Cathy Murray. She earned four varsity letters as a member of the swimming & diving team and was a three-time team MVP (2001, 2003, 2004). Wheeler was named to the all-area team in 2003 and 2004 and was four-time all-academic selection. She also lettered as a member of the softball team, earning team MVP honors her freshman and senior years.
Personal: An occupational therapy major, she is the daughter of Claude and Donna Wheeler.
