CHESTER, Pa. – The Ithaca College men's lacrosse team extended its win streak to three games on Saturday afternoon, rolling to a decisive 21-8 road victory over Widener University. The Bombers improve to 3-2 on the season, while the Pride drop to 2-3.
Senior attacker
Tim Rogers remained red‑hot, fueling the offense with a game‑high five goals.
Lucas Proctor added four goals of his own, while
Brendan Occhino and
Cullen Adams each recorded hat tricks. Ithaca's 21‑goal performance marked a new season high and the program's most in a game since scoring 25 against Brockport last spring.
Ithaca wasted no time establishing control, striking six times in both the first and second quarters to build a 12-5 halftime lead. Occhino opened the scoring just 1:04 into the contest with his fifth goal of the season, then assisted Rogers moments later to give the Bombers an early 2-0 edge. Widener responded with back‑to‑back man‑up goals, but Rogers countered with his second of the day as IC closed the opening quarter with a 6-3 advantage.
Lucas Proctor tallied his second goal early in the second quarter off a feed from
Ryan Connolly, and Adams followed with a man‑up finish to extend the margin to 8-3. Both Proctor and Rogers completed first half hat tricks before the break, with Rogers' unassisted strike in the final 19 seconds sending Ithaca to the locker room up seven.
Will Kleine joined the scoring surge early in the second half, netting his ninth goal of the season just over three minutes into the third quarter. His finish sparked a 4-0 Ithaca run, which included additional tallies from
Brendan Occhino and
Tim Rogers, as the Bombers pushed their lead to 16-6 heading into the fourth.
Ithaca closed out the afternoon by outscoring Widener 5-2 in the final quarter to cap its dominant offensive performance.
Andrew Minard logged 45 minutes in goal and recorded three saves, while
Liam Alberti provided a major spark at the faceoff X, winning an impressive 16-of-17 to fuel the Bombers' possession advantage.
Next up, Ithaca will look to keep things rolling when they take on Ohio Northern University during its Spring Break at USA Lacrosse in Sparks, Md. on Saturday, March 14 at 12 p.m.
