Box Score SPARKS, Md. – The Ithaca College men's lacrosse team opened its Spring Break trip with a 10–6 victory over Ohio Northern University on Saturday afternoon at USA Lacrosse Headquarters. With the win, the Bombers extended their winning streak to four games and improved to 4–2 overall, while the Polar Bears dropped to 3–5 on the season.
Ithaca came out strong, building a 4–1 lead after the first quarter. The Bombers struck first when
Will Kleine ripped an unassisted goal, and just minutes later
Cullen Adams found
Tim Rogers on the doorstep to make it 2–0. Ohio Northern responded with a goal at the 5:32 mark, but Ithaca answered once again as
Brendan Occhino scored back-to-back goals, assisted by
Jack Giannuzzi and
Lucas Proctor, to close the opening period.
The Bombers continued their offensive momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Polar Bears 3–2 behind goals from Proctor, Occhino, and
Ryan Connolly to take a 7–3 lead into halftime.
Both teams traded goals in the third quarter, before Ithaca sealed the win in the fourth. Occhino completed his hat trick, and
Corey White capped the scoring with the game's final goal with 1:38 remaining.
In goal,
Andrew Minard delivered a strong performance between the pipes to earn the victory.
Ithaca continues its Spring Break trip on Tuesday, March 17, when the Bombers face SUNY Brockport at USA Lacrosse Headquarters at 12 p.m.
