Men’s Lacrosse Downs SUNY Geneseo 15-6 in Home Opener

ITHACA, NY – The Ithaca College men's lacrosse team dominated their home opener against SUNY Geneseo, securing a decisive 15-6 victory. The Bombers came out strong, outscoring the visitors 4-0 in the opening quarter and maintaining their lead throughout the game. With this win, Ithaca evened its overall record to 1-1, while Geneseo fell to 0-2.

The Bombers started with a bang, scoring the first eight goals unanswered over the visiting SUNY Geneseo Knights. Kyle Savery ignited the offense by finding the top corner, putting the Bombers up 1-0. Graham Brady, Jack Pastore, and Kyle Proctor followed suit, scoring the next three goals to give Ithaca a 4-0 lead going into the second quarter. Lucas Proctor played a key role, assisting on the first three goals scored by Savery, Brady, and Pastore.

Ithaca continued their momentum in the second quarter, with Ethan Adrid, Lucas Proctor, Kyle Savery, and Sam Baker each finding the net, doubling Ithaca's lead to eight. Geneseo responded with a goal from Colin Cahill, who sent a heat-seeker past Ithaca goalie Andrew Minard, cutting the lead to seven. Graham Brady quickly answered, making it 9-1 heading into halftime.

The Bombers kept the pressure on in the third quarter, extending their lead to 13-4. The fourth quarter was relatively uneventful, as Ithaca maintained possession and secured their first win of the 2025 season.

The Bombers' combination of elite shooting placement, ball movement, and shutdown defense earned them an impressive win over a well-coached Geneseo Knights team.

The Proctor brothers were standout performers, with Kyle scoring twice and assisting on two goals, while Lucas scored once and added four assists. Kyle Savery also impressed with a hat trick and an assist. Chris Sohl, Chase Gulick, and Corey White dominated from the faceoff X, winning 20 of 25 draws.

The Bombers will return to action on Saturday, March 1, at noon when Widener University visits Higgins Stadium.
