TROY, NY– The Ithaca College women's basketball team bounced back from their loss last night with a statement win when they traveled to Troy, N.Y. to take on the RPI Engineers on Saturday afternoon. The Bombers were able to explode offensively and defensively in the second quarter sparking their momentum enroute to a solid 72-62 win improving their record to 16-4 overall and 10-3 within Liberty League play.
Both offenses came out to fast starts as both defenses were aggressive.
June Dickson found an offensive rhythm quickly as she was able to connect on a three pointer within the first couple of minutes in the first quarter for the Bombers.
Camryn Coffey also joined in late in the first hitting back-to-back treys, followed by a
June Dickson layup making the score. 14-12.
Anya Watkins had a tough finish on a layup with another
June Dickson three, making the score 19-14 with less than a minute to go. RPI responded with a layup making the score 19-16 heading into the second quarter.
Hannah Polce opened up the second with a three pointer in the center of the arc, making the score 22-16. In an offensive swing,

Camryn Coffey solidified the lead with a three-pointer assisted by
Tori Drevna making it 33-19. The half ended with a steal by
Hannah Polce, and a fast break assist to
Tori Drevna for a buzzer beater to make it 41-20 heading into halftime in favor of Ithaca.
The second half was a battle as RPI and Ithaca went shot for shot for the first five minutes, keeping the 20-point lead in favor of the Bombers. Back-to-back threes from Hormazabal and Costello from RPI, made it a 10-point game with two minutes to go in the third.
Graycen Dubin had a tough layup assisted by Dickson, followed by an
Avery McPeek layup also assisted by Dickson making it 54-41. Back-to-back turnovers from the Bombers gave RPI a chance to cut the lead to 54-46 with one quarter left.
It was a competitive fourth quarter that was opened up with a Coffey three, making the lead ten points. Dubin came in clutch with a free throw and an assist to Polce for a jumper making it 59-48 with eight minutes to go. It was a dominate few possessions for RPI having a 5-0 run making it 59-51 with under six minutes to go.
Hannah Polce got fouled and shot two free-throws to make it a 10-point game once again for IC. Yorio finished a strong layup assisted by Coffey and Polce had a jumper and a three pointer late in the game both assisted by Coffey, making the score 70-57. The game came down with the Bombers on top, with a 72-62 win.
June Dickson and
Hannah Polce led the way for the Bombers offensively as they had 18 and 14 points, respectively.
Camryn Coffey netted in 13 points and Anabella Yorio dominated the paint after bringing in 7 rebounds on the night. For the Engineers, Siena Smith led the way with 18 points and 7 rebounds.
The Bombers will continue Liberty League play in their next game when they travel to Rochester, N.Y. to take on RIT this Tuesday, February 6 at 5:30 p.m. for their final road contest of the regular season.
