No. 21 Volleyball Completes Third-Straight Undefeated Liberty League Regular Season

ITHACA, N.Y. - The No. 21 ranked Ithaca College volleyball team took on Bard in another Liberty League matchup on Saturday afternoon inside Ben Light Gymnasium. It was a clean three set sweep for Ithaca, who dominated throughout the entire match winning by set scores of 25-6, 25-11 and 25-9. The Bombers move to 19-5 overall and completed their third-straight undefeated season (8-0) in conference play. With this win this allows the Bombers to host the Liberty League Tournament on the weekend of November 15.

Ithaca dominated both on the offensive and defensive end, creating opportunities for all student-athletes on the team. They held Bard to a total of 26 points through 3 sets. Ellie Benedict and Julia Costa combined for 16 total digs. The offensive attack came from Naomi Clauhs who tallied 17 kills. Bard could not handle the front line, and only totaled three blocks throughout the entire game.

Ithaca's serving was also on point with aces coming from Maddie Cox (4), Ellie Benedict (3), and Ella Graper (3).

First years were able to get some experience on the floor. Jayden Wiese, Brianna Owen, Renee McGowan, and Zoe Strachan all played at least one set and contributed to scoring runs.

The Bombers are gearing up to take on Cortland and Nazareth next weekend where they will celebrate Senior Day prior to the tri-match. Those games will be held on Saturday at 12 p.m. against the Red Dragons and they will square off against the Golden Eagles at 5 p.m.
