ITHACA, N.Y. – On Tuesday, the Liberty League announced their 2022-23 women's basketball postseason awards and headlining the award winners for the Bombers was
Emily Dorn being named Liberty League Player of the Year. In addition, Dorn also placed on the All-Liberty League First Team while
Lindsey Albertelli earned a spot on the Second Team and
Natalie Smith garnered Honorable Mention recognition.
Taking the Liberty League's highest honor of Player of the Year was senior forward,
Emily Dorn. This season she was the Bombers leading scorer with 10.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. In addition to being named player of the year, Dorn took a place on the All-Liberty League First Team. Dorn's scoring and rebounding totals have been career-bests as she has scored in double figures in 11 games this season.
Lindsey Albertelli earned an honor on the All-Liberty League Second Team. Albertelli has averaged 8.5 points per game this season. In addition, she leads the Bombers in blocks with 32. Albertelli leads the team with an average of 6.5 rebounds per game, which is good for a total of 155 entering this weekend's first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Rounding out the honors for the Bombers, earning a spot on the All-Liberty League Honorable Mention Team was
Natalie Smith. This season, Smith has helped the Bombers on the offensive side of things, averaging 9.0 points per game. Smith has been successful as a facilitator and has totaled 68 assists, which leads the team.
The Bombers are set to take on the La Roche Red Hawks in the first round of the NCAA tournament on at Ben Light Gymnasium on Friday, March 3. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
