POTSDAM, N.Y. — The Ithaca College women's basketball team returned to action on Friday evening in a Liberty League road game at Clarkson University. Despite a double-double from
Tori Drevna, the Golden Knights came away with a 79-69 win.
Ithaca (7–9, 4–5 Liberty League) opened the game with early offensive rhythm as
Avery McPeek scored the first basket on a left‑handed layup. After Clarkson pushed ahead,
Tori Drevna twice cut the deficit with key scores and rebounds, and
Zoraida Icabalceta added a layup in transition to keep the Bombers within reach.
Kenzie Perluke provided a spark off the bench, converting back‑to‑back finishes after a steal, and
Simone Pintinalli hit a wing three to narrow Clarkson's lead.
Trailing by eight late in the second quarter, Ithaca surged behind a 10–2 run. Drevna drained a contested three as the shot clock expired, and Icabalceta followed with a deep three to force a Clarkson timeout with the Bombers within two. Drevna later buried another triple to give Ithaca its first lead since the opening minutes, and the Bombers carried a 33–32 advantage into halftime.
Drevna struck again to open the third quarter with a three‑pointer, and McPeek added a layup to maintain the lead.
Madison Gill knocked down a corner three and Icabalceta hit a jumper as the Bombers' full‑court pressure briefly slowed Clarkson's offense.
Natalie Tucker added a three‑point play to push Ithaca ahead 47–40 midway through the period.
Momentum shifted late in the third when Clarkson closed on a 14–4 run, taking a 54–51 edge into the fourth. The Golden Knights extended the lead to double digits with under two minutes to play. Gill connected on a deep three to pull Ithaca within six, 75–69, with 20 seconds remaining, but the Bombers couldn't close the gap as Clarkson sealed the 79–69 win at the free throw line.
Tori Drevna led Ithaca with 17 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Icabalceta added 12 points and five rebounds, while McPeek finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
The Bombers will remain in North Country as they have a quick turnaround with a Saturday matchup at St. Lawrence slated for 2 p.m.
