Women's Basketball Take Down St. John Fisher in Non-Conference Action

ROCHESTER, NY– The Ithaca College women's basketball team continued their winning ways when they traveled to Rochester, N.Y. to take on the St. John Fisher Cardinals on Tuesday evening. The Bombers were able to explode offensively in the second half sparking their momentum en route to a dominant 69-55 win improving their record to 4-1 while St. John Fisher fell to 3-2.

Both offenses came out to somewhat slow starts as both defenses were aggressive. Annabella Yorio found an offensive rhythm quickly as she was able to score three points within the first couple of minutes in the first quarter for the Bombers. Camryn Coffee also joined in as the fun as she led all scorers with five points after the first quarter. For the Cardinals, it was Sydney Tomasso who sparked their offense hitting two shots of her own for 4 points. The score was knotted at 13 points apiece to end the quarter.

June Dickson was able to take over early in the second quarter for the Bombers as she had an impressive 3-pointer and then made a clutch layup to put Ithaca ahead by five. The teams would trade points back and forth which resulted in a 31-31 tie at halftime.

The second half was when the Bombers really displayed what they were capable of. Anya Watkins and Gracen Dubin joined in on the scoring frenzy as they both made some shots to extend the Bombers lead to 11 at one point in the third quarter. St. John Fisher wasn't going to back down however as Sydney Tomasso continued to keep her team in it by making several clutch shots. Ithaca led at the end of the third with the score being 53-41.

Camryn Coffey and June Dickson were dynamite from 3-point land in the 4th as they combined for three 3-pointers to extend the Ithaca lead. Zoraida Icabalceta also hit a three to secure the Bombers win as they finished in dominant fashion taking this one, 69-55.
