Taylor Crain Advances on Day One of the Northeast ITA Regionals

ITHACA, N.Y.– The Ithaca College women's tennis team finished day one of the 2022 Northeast ITA on Friday, September 23 with sophomore Taylor Crain still competing in the single main draw. This year's event is hosted by Hamilton College at the Tietje Family Tennis Center.

Crain defeated Drew's Mary Kalorin in the first round, winning both sets 6-3 to advance to the round of 32. In the round of 32, she defeated Vassar's Macey Dowd in three sets (0-6, 6-2, 10-6) to advance to the round of 16 where she will face Rochester's Josephine Libby on Saturday at 10:45 a.m.

In doubles action, Zoe Davis and Eliana Chelnick teamed up but they came out on the wrong side of a 8-5 decision to their foes from the University of Rochester. Crain and Lauren Rodriguez were also in the main doubles draw but they fell in a hard-fought match 8-7 (5).

The Bombers will return to action tomorrow for round of 16 action and consolation bracket competition beginning at 9 a.m.
