Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's tennis team defeated Union College 6-3 Sunday afternoon in Glazer Arena. The Bombers now improve to 8-4 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.
Junior Zoe Davis along with first years Eliana Chelnick and Kayla Shenk took home wins in both singles and doubles in Ithaca's win this afternoon.
Davis and Chelnick recorded the most dominant win for IC, shutting out the Dutchwomen's second doubles team 8-0.
Shenk and her doubles partner, junior Rebecca Andrews, defeated Union's Gabby Gatto and Paige Tromblee 8-3 for Ithaca's next win at third doubles.
Reigning Liberty League Rookie of the Week Taylor Crain grabbed the Bombers first singles win in the top slot, easily taking down her opponent in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
Davis secured Ithaca's team win at fourth singles next, dispatching Union's Tromblee 6-0, 6-2.
Shenk and Chelnick grabbed two straight wins in the fifth and sixth singles spots respectively to close out the match for Ithaca. Shenk took her match 6-2, 6-0 while Chelnick recorded a 6-2, 6-3 win.
First year Lauren Rodriguez went to three sets in her match at second singles against Union's Marilena Karadimou, but eventually fell to her opponent 6-4, 0-6, 4-6.
