RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y.- The Ithaca College men's crew team kicked off their 2022 spring season this weekend at the Cayuga Duals. The race, hosted by IC, also featured crews from Bucknell University, Cornell University, Hobart College and events for the women's teams. The day featured a variety of categories including the men's varsity eight, second varsity eight, third varsity eight and men's four.
The first event of the day for the Bombers featured the varsity eight, where they faced Hobart head-to-head. IC fell to Hobart with a final time of 6:33.99. Hobart completed the race in 6:18.84. Ithaca's lineup included senior coxswain

Directly following the first heat of varsity races for the 1V, Cornell defeated Bucknell with a times of 6:07.41 and 6:36.70, respectively.
Next up for Ithaca was the second varsity heat. The Bombers went through the course in 6:50.40, placing second to Hobart who went 6:40.70. The Bombers second boat featured senior coxswain

Bucknell and Cornell raced their second varsity boats as well where Cornell came out in front with a final time of 6:23.09 overtaking Bucknell's time of 6:42.60.
The Ithaca men's four took the course next, racing against Hobart. The Bombers went 8:06.27 placing just behind Hobart who finished in 7:39.75. The four's heat, coxed by first-year

In the second half of the regatta, the heats were based off of the morning's results. The leading two times for each event faced off against each other in the first heat with the second two times going head-to-head in the second.
In the afternoon, the IC men's varsity boat raced Bucknell in what was one of the closest races of the day. The Bombers were edged out in the final 250 meters of the race, falling to Bucknell by just about two seconds. The crew's final times were 6:38.76 and 6:36.11, respectively.
For the Bombers' second varsity boat, the crew faced off against Buknell's third varsity lineup based off their first races. Ithaca went 7:14.25 while Bucknell's 3V went 7:08.52.
The final race and the second to last event of the regatta was the men's four. Ithaca and Bucknell went head to head for one last time. The Bombers defeated Bucknell's four with a final time of 8:42.08 to Bucknell's 9:17.51.
Overall, it was a great chance for the Bombers to get back on the Cayuga Inlet and race a tough spread of competiton. The Bombers will travel to Camden, New Jersey next weekend where the first and second varsity boats will compete in the Knecht Cup. The men's four will stay at home and race against St. John's Fisher on the Cayuga Inlet.
