SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's rowing team delivered a strong performance at the Head of the Fish Regatta on Saturday afternoon, earning multiple top finishes across several events.
The day began with three Bomber fours competing in a crowded field. Despite some confusion at the start due to out-of-order bow numbers, the crews remained composed and executed well throughout the course. The A Four moved through several competitors to place second among collegiate crews, while the B Four turned in a steady row to finish third collegiately. The C Four capped the opening races with a 10th-place collegiate finish.
Later in the afternoon, the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight impressed by establishing strong rhythms early and maintaining composure from start to finish, each earning first-place finishes in their respective events.
To conclude the day, the Freshman/Novice Four competed in their first collegiate race, posting a sixth-place finish with three rowers making their competitive debuts.
Head coach Justin Stangel praised the team's effort and focus, noting, "The team has been putting in a lot of work throughout the fall, and it was great to see that effort reflected in our results today. I'm proud of how the athletes handled themselves across all boats and continued to race with composure and commitment."
The Bombers will return to competition on Saturday, November 1, when they host Hamilton, Cornell, and Syracuse on the Cayuga Inlet. Racing is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
