Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's tennis team defeated the University of Rochester 5-4 on the Wheeler Tennis Courts this Thursday afternoon. The victory marked the second time in program history the Bombers defeated Yellow Jackets and the first since 2004. With the win, IC improves to a 7-2 record on the season. 
 
Junior Caroline Herz secured the team victory for Ithaca in the final singles spot, taking down Rochester's Jaclyn Dron in three sets 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. 
 
The second doubles team of junior Zoe Davis and first year Eliana Chelnick took home the first doubles win for the Bombers, dispatching Yellow Jacket opponents easily 8-2. 
 
Junior Rebecca Andrews and first year Kayla Shenk grabbed another doubles win in the third doubles slot, besting Rochester's Shreya Mandalapu and Stephanie Kim 8-6. 
 
First year Lauren Rodriguez and Andrews played tough matches in the second and third singles spots respectively, but ultimately fell to their opponents in three sets. 
 
Davis recorded the first singles win for the Bombers in the fourth spot, defeating the Yellow Jacket's Kim easily 6-3, 6-1. 
 
Reigning Liberty League Rookie of the Week Kayla Shenk picked up another singles win in the fifth slot, dominating her opponent 6-3, 6-1. 
 
Up next, the Bombers will host Skidmore College on Saturday, March 26, for the team's first Liberty League matchup of the season. Start time is slated for 2 p.m.
