Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Ithaca College women's tennis team defeated Nichols College 8-1 Sunday afternoon to open up the team's spring break trip. With the victory, the Bombers improved to a perfect 5-0 record to start the season.

Reigning Liberty League Doubles Team of the Week, first year's Taylor Crain and Lauren Rodriguez took home the first win of the trip for Ithaca at first doubles. The pair dominantly defeated Nichols' Isabella Winter and Kelley Carlin 8-0.

Junior Zoe Davis and first year Eliana Chelnick grabbed the next doubles win for the Bombers in the second slot, taking down their opponents 8-3.

First year Kayla Shenk and partner junior Rebecca Andrews fell to Bison 6-8 in the third doubles spot, recording the only loss of the afternoon for IC.

Taylor Crain opened up the singles wins for Ithaca, dispatching Nichols' Antonia Carrero easily 6-0, 6-1. The two-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week remains perfect in singles matches so far this season with a 5-0 record and only lost one game in her latest matchup.

Rebecca Andrews took the next win at third singles, defeating her opponent 6-0, 6-2.

A singles honoree in last week's Liberty League awards, Davis secured the win for Ithaca in the fourth singles spot. After taking the first set 6-3, the junior dropped the second to Nichols' Johanna Schroder 1-6. Davis battled back to take the super tie-breaker 10-6 and win the team match for the Bombers.

Rodriguez notched another win for Ithaca in the second singles slot next, besting the Bison's Kara Stankewitz 7-6 (4), 6-4.

Shenk and fellow first year Ekaterina Kelly grabbed the last two singles wins of the afternoon, defeating Nichols opponents 6-1, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-2 respectively.
