Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. - In it's first team dual match since May 2021, the Ithaca College women's tennis team took down Wilkes University 8-1 in Glazer Arena on Saturday morning. The Bombers swept all three doubles matches against the visiting Colonels, dropping only one singles match. 
 
Taylor Crain, Lauren Rodriguez, Zoe Davis, Rebecca Andrews and Kayla Shenk all grabbed both doubles and singles wins for IC in the victory. 
 
Andrews and Shenk took the first doubles win, defeating Wilkes' Tea Amerise and Kaitlyn O'Neil 8-1. 
 
The doubles pairing of Crain and Rodriguez finished second, taking down the Colonels' Cassidy Greenman and Zoe Klein 8-4. 
 
Davis and first-year Ellie Chelnick rounded out the doubles wins for Ithaca, besting their opponents Dasha Yakhnis and Alexa Cieri 8-4. 
 
Crain grabbed the first singles win for the Bombers, defeating Wilkes' Yakhnis easily at 6-1, 6-0. 
 
Next up was Andrews' double bagel singles victory over Colonels' Zoe Klein, 6-0, 6-0, the most dominant win for the afternoon for Ithaca. 
 
Rodriguez took home the third singles win for the Bombers, downing Greeman 6-3, 6-2. 
 
Davis had the closest singles match for Ithaca in the fourth spot, but was still able to easily best Wilkes' Amerise 6-1, 6-4. 
 
Shenk grabbed the last singles win of the afternoon for IC, defeating opponent Abby Bielecki 6-2, 6-0. 
 
The Colonels took home only one win as Cieri grabbed the sixth singles match 6-4, 6-1 over junior Caroline Herz. 
 
Next up, the Bombers will host the Rochester Institute of Technology for it's second match of the spring season next Saturday, Feb.26. Start time is slated for 10 a.m.
