ITHACA, N.Y. – This Saturday, October 2, Ithaca College and Hobart College will square off in a top 25 showdown during Alumni Weekend and both teams' Liberty League opener at Butterfield Stadium. Ithaca is 3-0 on the year, while Hobart is 4-0.

ALL-TIME SERIES: Ithaca and Hobart have played a total of 32 times since 1961. The Bombers lead the all-time series, 28-4, and have not lost to the Statesmen at Butterfield Stadium (16-0), which includes a 34-0 victory in 2019. IC has also won each of the past three matchups. Hobart's victories against IC came in 2016 (23-3), 2014 (22-15), 2002 (17-6) and 2000 (19-0). Ithaca had won the previous 22 meetings before the showdown in 2000.
LAST TIME OUT/BYE WEEK: Ithaca was off last weekend. The Bombers last played at Alfred on September 18 and came away with a convincing, 34-0, victory over the Saxons. IC racked up 551 yards of offense and allowed 186 yards. After a scoreless first quarter, IC scored twice in the second period to take a 14-0 lead into halftime. The Bombers then scored two more TDs in the third quarter and capped off the 34-point win with a final touchdown with 7:21 left in regulation.
Jalen Hines, who was named to the Liberty League honor roll, ran for 99 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown. 
Michael Anderson scored twice on four receptions for 44 yards, while 
Andrew Vito hauled in nine passes for 82 yards. 
A.J. Wingfield threw for 226 yards and two scores on 28-of-34.

Michael Roumes each notched interceptions in the win, while 
Dan Mason forced and recovered a fumble.
IN THE RANKINGS: Both Ithaca and Hobart were featured in this week's AFCA and D3football.com Top 25 Polls. The Bombers checked in at No. 15 according to the AFCA and No. 17 in the D3football.com poll. Hobart cracked the top 25 for the first time this season and is ranked No. 23 by the AFCA and No. 21 by D3football.com.
HIGH-POWERED OFFENSES AND STINGY DEFENSES: What's going to be the story of Saturday's game? Ithaca averages 36.3 points per game and allows 9.3 points to lead the Liberty League. Hobart leads the league with 44.0 points per game and is surrendering 9.5 per outing. IC ranks ninth in Division III in pointed allowed, while Hobart is 13th. Offensively, Hobart is 22nd nationally and IC is 45th.
IC CELEBRATES HALL OF FAMERS AND 1991 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM: This weekend on South Hill marks Alumni Weekend. On Friday evening, Ithaca inducted its 52nd class into the Athletic Hall of Fame. At halftime on Saturday, the 10 newest members will be recognized – Leigh Bonkowski '06 (softball), Jeff Bostic '09 (basketball, football), Kaitlyn Dulac '06 (softball), Chelsey Feldman '09 (soccer, softball), Bob Garone '87 (football), Brian Mee '60 (baseball, soccer), Joe Scalice '06 (football), Gretchen Schlabach '75 (athletic training), Jennie Swatling '04 (basketball), Ashley Williams '07 (soccer).
Also in attendance this weekend is the 1991 national championship football team, who are celebrating their 30th anniversary of winning the third title for the football program. The 1991 team went 12-1 and defeated the University of Dayton, 34-20, in the Stagg Bowl on December 14. The Bombers scored more than 30 points in 10 games that season, including all four contests in the playoffs.
SCOUTING HOBART: The Statesmen are 4-0 on the season and have won each contest handily. Hobart opened the season with a 35-3 win at Alfred and then shutout Morrisville, 41-0. The following weekend, Hobart topped St. John Fisher, 42-21, and just recently defeated Keystone, 58-14.
Rayshawn Boswell has scored 10 touchdowns on the season – eight rushing and two receiving. Boswell has accounted for 322 yards on the ground and 103 receiving. Tim Denham Jr. leads the rushing attack with 420 yards on 70 carries and five touchdowns.
David Krewson has thrown for 572 yards and three scores and is completing 56.9-percent of his passes so far.
Alex LaBella anchors the receiving corps with 154 yards and 15 receptions, while Chris Bartosic has 132 yards on 10 catches.
Defensively, CJ Calero has 19 total tackles on the season with 5.0 for a loss of 19 yards. Jay McCoy has notched a forced fumble and recovery, to go along with 18 tackles.
