GREENSBORO, N.C. – The No. 4 Ithaca College women's track & field team wrapped up the second day of competition at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships at Irwin Belk Track with five more points towards the team total as junior
Logan Bruce placed fourth in the heptathlon. Ithaca now has 25.3 points heading into the final day of competition, and owns a slim lead over Tufts for first overall.

Bruce entered the second half of the heptathlon in sixth place but put together strong performances in the long jump, javelin and 800-meter run to finish off her championship with a personal best and school record mark of 5035 points. She is now the 137th all-time All-American in women's track & field history.

Bruce began the day in the long jump and placed sixth with a top mark of 5.35 meters, equating to 526 points. She then moved over to the javelin and finished third with a mark of 34.14 meters to account for 579 points. Bruce concluded the heptathlon with a fifth place effort in the 800 in 2:24.65, giving her 761 points.

Between the long jump and javelin, Bruce ran in the 100-meter hurdles prelim and placed 11th overall in 14.42 seconds.

Katelyn Hutchison was also in action on Friday, and she will compete in tomorrow's 400-meter dash final after placing third in the prelim with a time of 55.97 seconds. Hutchison will return to the track at 1:10 p.m. tomorrow for the championship race.

Samantha Healy will also be in action on Saturday with a 2 p.m. start to the hammer throw, while
Parley Hannan will look to add another national title to her resume in the 5,000-meter run, which takes place at 3 p.m.
