PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 3 Ithaca College women's track & field team concluded the AARTFC Championships at St. John Fisher College with a second place finish. Ithaca tallied 95 points over the two days as SUNY Geneseo won the team championship with 149 points.
Logan Bruce prevailed in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.13 seconds, which was nearly two-tenths of a second faster than the runner-up. Bruce also competed in the long jump and finished fifth overall with a leap of 5.59 meters.
The Bombers' 4x800-meter relay team of
Lauren Lobdell,
Rachel Rose,
Parley Hannan and
Maggie Nickerson won convincingly by 13 seconds with a performance of 9:30.87.
In the 800-meter run, Nickerson was third overall in 2:15.38, while
Lindsay Scott finished sixth at 2:17.83 and Lobdell came in seventh with a time of 2:18.26.
Katelyn Hutchison finished the 200-meter dash in 25.11 seconds to take fifth in the race.
Samantha Healy measured out 12.08 meters in the shotput to come in sixth overall, while
Ariyahna Bernard was 11th in the event with a mark of 10.85 meters. Healy also placed in the discus, finishing in 11th at 34.66 meters.
Sara Brown entered the long jump and came in 10th overall at 5.35 meters.
Katarina Gomez was a 10th place runner in the 400-meter dash in a time of 59.04 seconds, while
Sarah Lachenmayr followed in 11th with a final time of 59.27 seconds.
Ithaca will find out on Friday, May 21 what student-athletes have qualified for the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, N.C., which take place on May 27-29.
