PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 3 Ithaca College women's track & field leads the AARTFC Championships after the opening day of competition at St. John Fisher College with 53 team points. IC holds a slim edge over Geneseo, which finished the day with 47 points.
Parley Hannan won the 5,000-meter run convincingly with a time record time of 16:58.39, which was nearly a minute faster than the runner-up.
Samantha Healy took first in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.60 meters, while
Meghan Matheny prevailed in the pole vault with a top height of 3.97 meters.

Sarah Lachenmayr,
Maggie Nickerson finished fourth in a time of 3:53.30.
Ava Fowler placed fourth in the 10,000-meter run in a time of 38:18.47. Fowler led for the opening 5,600 meters of the race.
Ariyahna Bernard took fourth in the hammer with a heave of 48.17 meters.
Sara Altonen came in fifth with a cleared height of 3.67 meters in the pole vault, while
Gwen Gisler posted a seventh place showing at 3.37 meters.
Logan Bruce finished second in the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.52 seconds.
Meredith Garrity secured eighth in the 10K at 40:11.99, while
Jamie Rossig tied for ninth with a clearance of 3.22 meters in the pole vault.
Liana Shames finished 11th in the hammer at 47.00 meters, while
Sara Brown took 11th in the prelims of the 100 hurdles in 12.91 seconds.
Julia Nomberg cleared 3.07 meters to finish in 11th in the pole vault.
Molly Sear was a 12th place finisher in the triple jump with a leap of 10.72 meters, while
Isabel Johnston finished 13th in the steeplechase in 12:25.24.
Competition for the final day begins at 11 a.m. tomorrow morning.
