TROY, N.Y. – The Liberty League released its end-of-the-year awards for the baseball season on May 18 and five members of the Ithaca College program were recognized on one of three teams.

Ithaca finished the season with a 16-12-1 overall record with an 11-6-1 mark in league play and made its first appearance in the Liberty League Tournament. IC began its membership in the Liberty League last spring.

The Bombers had first team honorees, while one was named to the second team and another as an honorable mention selection.
First Team
Â
In his first full season with the program,
Kyle Lambert made a huge impact in the Bombers' starting rotation. Lambert led the staff with a 5-1 record in 48.1 innings pitched, to go along with a 3.54 ERA. He struck out 43 batters on the season and tossed a pair of complete games, including one shutout.

Buzz Shirley earned a spot on the first team as a pitcher and first baseman. On the mound, Shirley went 3-1 with a 4.99 ERA in 39.2 innings pitched and struck out a team-high 46 batters. At the plate, he paced IC with a .389 average, to go along with 37 hits, 24 runs scored, 23 RBI, 10 doubles and three homeruns. He also drew 17 walks and was hit by a pitch 11 times.

Garrett Callaghan was a first-teamer as an outfielder after he hit .375 on the season and was the main source of power in IC's lineup throughout the season with nine homeruns. Callaghan drove in 34 runs to lead the team and scored a team-best 31 times. He also had eight doubles and two triples, as well as 27 walks and seven stolen bases.

Louis Fabbo, a second baseman, was one of the top newcomers in the Liberty League this season, as he was tabbed rookie of the week multiple times. Fabbo finished the year with a .353 batting average with 42 hits, 31 RBI, 27 runs scored, six doubles and two homers. He recorded at least one hit in 25 games this season.

Honorable Mention

Garrett Bell spent time as a starter and relievers, allowing him to be named honorable mention as a relief pitcher. Bell appeared in a team-high 13 games and made four starts. He logged a 3.58 ERA with a 2-3 record and two saves as he struck out 28 batters over 32.2 innings pitched.
