ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis program notched its first win of the season in dominant fashion, as the Bombers shutout Cortland, 9-0, at the Wheeler Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon. Ithaca is now 1-1 on the season, while Cortland drops to 0-1 in its first match of the year.

Ithaca started off the match with convincing doubles victories.
Alexandra Dyszewski and Rebecca Andrew staked IC to a 1-0 lead at first doubles with an 8-0 shutout.
Second doubles partners of
Caroline Herz and
Sarah Sposito, and third doubles
Shannon Wolfe and
Audry Johnson each won by an 8-2 score to complete the doubles sweep.
It was much of the same in singles play as Herz routed her opponent, 6-0, 6-0, in the third flight.
Rel Klein nearly shutout her counterpart, 6-1, 6-0, at fourth singles. At first singles,
Zoe Davis cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win to secure the match.
Allyson Stefanski moved IC's lead to 6-0 in the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the sixth flight.
Isabelle Bennett (6-3, 6-2) and
Sara Steinberg (6-4, 6-3) completed the shutout win at fifth and second singles.
The Bombers head to St. Lawrence University on Saturday for a Liberty League showdown at 12 p.m.
