ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team earned a hard-fought, 6-3, Liberty League home victory on Saturday against William Smith at the Wheeler Tennis Courts. Ithaca snapped a three-match losing streak and is now 2-4 on the season and 1-3 in the Liberty League.

IC led, 2-1, after doubles competition and then fell behind, 3-2, after the first two pairings in singles action. The Bombers rallied for the victory with wins from third-to-sixth singles to secure the 6-3 win.

In doubles, Sara Steinberg and Caroline Herz won at second singles, 8-5, and then Shannon Wolfe and Audry Johnson won at third doubles in a tiebreak, 8-7.

Steinberg was the initial winner in singles play and secured a 6-0, 6-3 victory at third singles. Herz notched the next win at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-3, and then Rel Klein locked up the victory for IC at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-1. Johnson added Ithaca's sixth point at sixth singles, 6-2, 7-5.
