Softball Announces Schedule for Spring 2021 Season

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College softball program will be back in action on Wednesday, March 24, beginning their season with a doubleheader against Elmira College at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The program's first Liberty League game will be against the RIT Tigers with another doubleheader on Saturday, March 27. With a busy schedule of worthy opponents, the Bombers are anticipating a 34-game season. The program is excited to shake off the dust from 377 days with no contest and show just how much they have persevered in the past year.

Fans please note, that in accordance with current health policies, there will be no spectators allowed at Kostrinsky Field or any Liberty League road contests. For away non-conference games, please check with the opposing team's athletics website for spectator policies.

Softball will be playing against a number of Liberty League teams, in addition to the non-conference games against Elmira (March 24), St. John Fisher College (March 31), Alfred University (April 7 and May 5), and SUNY Cortland (April 14).
 
Next week, the Bombers go head-to-head with RIT in a four-game series, both home and away. Two non-conference games against St. John Fisher College on March 31 and after a week-long break, the Bombers will head the Saxons at Alfred University on April 7. In another weekend four game series both home and away, the Bombers will go against Liberty League competitor Union College on April 10-11. The Bombers will travel to Cortland to take on the Dragons, one of Bomber fans favorite rivals, on April 14. IC then heads to Rochester for a par on April 17 and returns to the Kostrinsky Field  for a pair at home on the 18.
 
A four-game series against Clarkson on April 24-25 and St. Lawrence on May 1-2 will aid the Bombers on their road to a successful season. They will play against Alfred again in a double-header May 5. The regular season will conclude with four more games against Skidmore College, both home and away May 8-9.
 
The Liberty League Championship Tournament is scheduled to begin on May 12 and May 15. More information regarding location and times will be released at a later date.
 
The Bombers will be boasting seven seniors and graduate students on this year's team. Frankie-Ann McCauley and Haley Gaffney continued their careers through graduate school, and the current seniors include Beth Fleming, Haley White, Samantha Troetti, Kaitlin Maniscalco, and Gabby Laccona.
 
IC has three juniors this season: Julia Loffredo, Daniella Mulvey, and Kira Flegenheimer. The current sophomore class holds seven players starting with Tava Kasper, Allison Dell'Orto, Kailey Collins, Riley Piromalli, Miriam Maistelman, Madison Casale, and Alison May.
 
Though it has been a tumultuous past year, four fearless first-years Hudson Hassler, Belle De Oliveria, Hope Warren, and Ainsley Rogers have joined the pack.
 
The Bombers are excited to return to action after a year of uncertainty under alumnae and Head Coach Hannah Quintana '07, as well as assistant coach Kelly Robichaud '16.
