ITHACA, N.Y. – With the start of lacrosse season just a few short months away, the United States of America Lacrosse Magazine released its NCAA Division III Preseason All-Americans as announced on Monday afternoon and Ithaca College junior
Demetri Lowry was selected as a Third Team honoree as a defender ahead of the 2022 season.
Overall, he was one of 39 student-athletes from around the nation to receive the recognition from USA Lacrosse Magazine this year. Lowry finished the 2021 shortened schedule as an All-Liberty League First Team selection and USILA Honorable Mention All-American after an outstanding sophomore campaign.
In 2021, Lowry started all 10 games for the Bombers for the Bombers as a steadying force on defense. The rising junior ranked third on the team with 27 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. The Ambler, Pa. native recorded a season-high six caused turnovers and six ground balls against St. John Fisher. He also had a strong showing against Clarkson, with five caused turnovers and five ground balls. Lowry recorded at least one caused turnover in six games, and at least one ground ball in nine contests.
During the 2021 campaign, Lowry helped guide the Bombers to a 6-4 overall record and were defeated in the Liberty League semifinals by St. Lawrence but return a strong core of student-athletes who are looking forward to a full slate of competition this spring.
The Bombers will officially open the 2020 season on Wednesday, Feb. 23 on the road at SUNY Oneonta for a 4 p.m. start time. Below is the complete list of the 2022 USA Lacrosse Magazine NCAA Division III Preseason All-Americans.
