GENESEO, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's cross country team competed in the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional on Saturday, November 13 hosted by SUNY Geneseo at the Warplane Museum and finished third overall out of 20 teams with 120 points. IC will find out if it receives a bid to the upcoming Division III Championship sometime Sunday.
Geneseo won the team championship in dominant fashion with 19 points as all five scoring runners finished in the top eight. Rochester was the runner-up with 70 points with four top 16 placements.
Geneseo also sported the top individual runner on the 6K course, as Windsor Ardner won the race in a time of 22:10.7. The top 35 finishers in the race earn all-region honors.
Paloma De Monte was IC's top runner, finishing in 15th overall in a time of 23:53.4, while
Jillian Shea followed close behind in 20th with a time of 24:06.6.
Lauren Lobdell posted a time of 24:19.5 to notch a 25th place showing, and
Lindsay Scott took 26th in 24:22.0.
Meredith Garrity rounded out the top five and all-region nods with a 34th place finish, as she crossed the finish line in a time of 24:34.6.
Julia Tomanovich just missed out on all-region consideration with a 38th place performance in 24:43.5 and
Rachel Rose took 48th with a time of 25:01.6.
