ITHACA, N.Y. - The 2025 Liberty League Women's Cross Country major award winners were selected in a vote by the conference's head coaches following the NCAA Division III Championship on December 3 and Ithaca College junior transfer Lola Gitlin was selected as Rookie of the Year.

Gitlin was selected as the Liberty League Rookie of the Year after an impressive debut season running collegiately for the Bombers. Gitlin tallied three top-15 finishes, including a 10th-place showing in the team's season opener at Brockport, the Tom Balon Classic (5K, 19:37.4). She recorded her season-best 6-kilometer time of 22:17.4 at the Connecticut College Invitational (Blue Race), placing 65th in a field of 261 runners. In her first conference championship appearance, Gitlin earned All-Liberty League First Team honors with a team-best seventh-place finish at 22:51.4. A four-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week selection, Gitlin was among the top 15 of 162 competitors at the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional. She placed 15th overall with a time of 22:27.7.

Gitlin transferred to Ithaca after playing two seasons of soccer at Division I Long Island University.

She becomes the second women's cross country runner to be named Liberty League Rookie of the Year, joining Jessica Goode in 2022. Gitlin is also the ninth rookie of the year in program history dating back to 2003.
