The Ithaca College softball team won both games in its doubleheader against Utica College, winning the first game by a score of 9-0 and winning the second game by a score of 6-1.
Game 1 | Ithaca 9, Utica 0
It took only five innings for the Bombers to get the first win, as they jumped out 5-0 in the first inning. IC added one more run in the second and three more in the fourth inning to secure the victory. Ithaca had 11 hits on the day.
Junior Maddie Kraemer dominated at the plate as she went 3-for-3 with a season-high five RBI, which included a three-run triple in the fourth inning. Freshman Zahida Sherman earned her sixth win of the season as she only allowed two hits and struck out seven.
Game 2 | Ithaca 6, Utica 1
The Bombers jumped out to a 3-0 lead already by the end of the third inning. IC was able to score three more runs in the third while the Comets could only score one run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Kraemer had another big game by going 1-for-3 and two doubles. Junior Abbey Pelot earned her sixth win of the season and is now seventh on Ithaca's all-time wins list.
Hoping to get their sixth and seventh straight wins, the Bombers will go up against SUNY Cortland in a non-conference doubleheader March 14 in Cortland, NY.
