The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against St. John Fisher, winning the first game 6-0, but losing the second game 5-1.

The Bombers set a school record during Game 1 as they recorded their fight-straight shutout. Ithaca got on the board early in the game, as they scored four runs in the second inning. IC then went on to add one run in the bottom of the fourth and sixth innings. In total, Ithaca had 13 hits.Â

Freshman Mel Chinigo had a great day for the Bombers offensively, as she had a career-high four RBI and hit her third triple. Freshman Zahida Sherman pitched her second straight shutout, only allowing four hits while having a season-high seven strikeouts.Â

Game 2 | St. John Fisher 5, Ithaca 1
The game was scoreless until St. John Fisher scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth. In the bottom of the sixth, the Cardinals added two more to take a 5-0 lead. The Bombers were only able to score one run in the top of the seventh.Â

Meg Hannon scored the only RBI for the Bombers. Junior Abbey Pelot lost her fourth game of the season as she pitched 5.2 innings while striking out four. The Bombers will host RPI in their next home doubleheader, which will be March 30 at Kostrinsky Field.
